Snapshot of Daily Duties Provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with all regulatory requirements and/or guidelines. Set up and assist physician with procedures. Ensure that all the equipment is correct for the procedure and in good working order. Safely deliver endoscopes to and from the procedure room. Collect, label, and send specimens with the correct paperwork out of the procedure room. Document thoroughly, accurately, and appropriately for each procedure. Accurately obtain vital signs as indicated and document on chart. Escort patient/families through and assist in checking in of patients as scheduled or needed. Assist in data collection to identify the patient’s needs, problems, concerns, or human responses.

Requirements

  • High School graduate required.
  • Previous medical experience is preferable.
  • Previous experience with computers is required.
  • Must possess knowledge of acceptable parameters of pulse oximetry and blood pressures, blood borne pathogens and aseptic techniques.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must have sufficient strength to move carts and assist patients while walking.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical experience is preferable.
