About The Position

The Endovascular Hybrid Special Procedure Technologist will assist physicians with a range of surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures in a hybrid operating room, a specialized environment that combines surgical and imaging equipment. This role requires technical assistance with medical devices and imaging systems, functioning in scrub, monitor, and imaging management capacities. Will support both surgical and endovascular concepts, specializing in minimally invasive and advanced hybrid techniques while caring for patients. Requirements

  • Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies
  • Certification - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Nice To Haves

  • Education - Associates degree in Applied Science
  • Experience - 5+ years of Cardiology Experience
  • 5+ years of Clinical Experience

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in the integration of both surgical and imaging concepts within the hybrid operating room.
  • Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principals of radiation safety quality control, image post processing, and demonstrates the ability to plan own work.
  • Uploads proper diagnostic images in preparation for requested examination prior to procedure day.
  • Provide direct, hands-on assistance to physicians performing endovascular and surgical procedures.
  • Operate and provide technical support for medical devices, imaging systems, and other surgical equipment.
  • As needed, operates fluoroscopy under physician supervision.
  • Ensures the procedure and related supplies are documented and billed correctly.
  • Competently works within required computer programs as well as manual downtime processes.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prepares the procedure tray and equipment according to the physician’s preference.
  • Function as a scrub tech and handles surgical instruments while assisting physician.
  • Act as a monitor during procedures.
  • Documents appropriate information in patient’s chart.
  • All additional duties as assigned.
