The mission of the Internship Program is to provide students with a pre -professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work experience related to their field of study or career interest. Students engage in career exploration and development as well as learn new skills. Interns will have the opportunity to attend meetings, think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to network with other interns throughout the Institution. This internship is an opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year and graduate students pursuing a masters degree with an interest in finance, accounting, and/or investment to apply principles and theory learned in the classroom in a professional environment. This internship pays an hourly rate of $ 1 8.00 , and applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum number of hours per week (no less than 40 hours per week, during regular business hours), with some flexibility around an academic course schedule. Position Location : This position is designated as on site and requires full-time in-person work at Brookings’ Washington, DC office and is not eligible for any regular remote work. Responsibilities The Endowment Office is responsible for the current and future financial support to the Institution in the pursuit of its mission. Accordingly, the endowment as a portfolio will be invested for the long-term in a matter that preserves its purchasing power and saves for the future of the Institution. The institution intends and expects to exist in perpetuity. This internship provides a front row seat to the world of global finance and investment management. The Endowment Office Intern will support the team in portfolio-wide and investment fund specific data management and analysis, attend meetings and take notes on meetings with fund managers, assist in due diligence, and contribute by completing various other administrative tasks that are crucial to the running of the Endowment.
