About The Position

Hello! We’re the Justice Information Technology Services (JITS) team at the Montana Department of Justice (DOJ). We serve the Montana Attorney General providing vital Information Technology (IT) infrastructure which Montanan’s rely upon to support state and local law enforcement. Our team is dynamic and collaborative, and we have a big impact. We manage the IT systems, services, and interfaces to support approximately 900 DOJ employees, and over 3,000 Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) customers across the state working together to make a difference. JITS supports DOJ staff involved with legal cases concerning the State and its people, Montana missing persons, victim services, children’s justice, consumer protection, criminal investigations, highway safety, motor vehicle operations, gambling control, criminal history information, and forensic laboratory services. We are looking for a skilled Endpoint Engineer who will assist in developing, planning, implementing, and managing the DOJ’s endpoints including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, systems software, licenses, and print management. This position will work on technical issues from both upper and lower-level positions, involving endpoint, network and/or systems modifications.

Requirements

  • Two years of education in the field of Information Technology.
  • Two years of job-related experience in a network or systems administrator role.
  • Other combinations of education, certification or experience may be substituted.
  • Strong technical knowledge of endpoint devices, operating systems, device management systems, workstation imaging and deployment.
  • Managing complex and varied system development and administration projects
  • Isolating and resolving advanced technical problems
  • Communicating well with people of varied technical levels
  • Managing multiple tasks and workflow
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.
  • REAL ID Compliant Credential Required and/or Passport

Nice To Haves

  • Two years job-related experience in a service desk role.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Endpoint Configuration Manager, Active Directory and Windows Server products
  • Experience with MDM and AV solutions are also a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and manage pushing Department applications and their configurations to workstations
  • Build Department operating system configurations and deploy workstations to end users
  • Develop and implement technical assistance services
  • Ensure the implementation of endpoint security measures and policies to protect organizational data
  • Monitor endpoint performance and implement enhancements to optimize user experience
  • Provide advanced technical support for endpoint-related issues, escalating complex problems as necessary
