About The Position

The Energy Manager / Measurement & Verification (M&V) Specialist is responsible for reducing energy consumption, improving efficiency, and managing energy‑related data and reporting across company facilities and projects. This role supports both operational performance and compliance by developing energy strategies, identifying savings opportunities, and verifying results from energy‑efficiency initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, understanding of building systems, and experience with energy audits and M&V best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy management, environmental science, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience with energy management systems, building automation, or energy auditing.
  • Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with M&V protocols (e.g., IPMVP) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement energy management plans, establish consumption baselines, and set achievable energy‑reduction goals.
  • Collect, track, and analyze data from utility meters, building systems, and monitoring platforms to identify inefficiencies and cost‑reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct energy audits and assessments.
  • Recommend and oversee energy‑efficient upgrades such as HVAC improvements, lighting retrofits, controls adjustments, and system optimization projects.
  • Manage energy budgets, forecast usage and costs, and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with environmental and energy‑related regulations.
  • Prepare internal reports, communicate findings to stakeholders, train teams on energy‑efficient practices, and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish accurate pre‑project baseline energy usage to support post‑project performance comparison.
  • Measure and analyze post‑implementation energy usage; normalize data for variables such as weather, production levels, or occupancy to ensure accurate savings calculations.
  • Prepare M&V documentation and reports that clearly present verified energy savings to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Use data analytics, automation platforms, and building system trends (HVAC, IoT devices, etc.) to optimize performance and validate ongoing results.
