About The Position

Responsible for performing maintenance and repair services in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, machine servicing, air conditioning, wall covering, and masonry.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • Must be proficient in general hotel maintenance
  • Strong painting skills and relevant experience in HVAC, electrical and plumbing are required
  • Knowledge and use of all procedures and safety techniques for the various trades
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and mechanical trades a plus
  • Ability to take direction, questions, and instructions from supervisor, management and co-workers
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch
  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push
  • Must have good near and far vision
  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, being exposed to environmental factors such as seasonal heat, cold, noise, dust, and pollution
  • Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality
  • High school education or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior apartment/hospital maintenance experience considered
  • Trade apprenticeship preferred

Responsibilities

  • Check HVAC loop temperatures are at normal operating temperatures
  • Check domestic hot water temperatures
  • Walk building daily looking for lights out and any obvious breakdowns, blemishes or other problems
  • Follow up on Housekeeping calls for maintenance issues
  • Fix all broken furniture as assigned
  • Schedule maintenance of equipment to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications
  • Ensure that all work orders are completed in a timely manner and up to hotel standards
  • Change air and water filters throughout the hotel
  • Conduct preventative maintenance throughout hotel including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchen, restaurant, storage, and office areas
  • Identify safety problems applicable to the repair and maintenance of systems and take necessary corrective action
  • Assist other departments within the property as needed
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
