The essential responsibilities of the District Engineer 1 will include applying established engineering principles in the design of electric, gas and water facilities for residential and commercial customers which include relocations, installations and removals; within specific guidelines, provide engineering and technical assistance to design personnel, customers, architects and various external entities; assist in computer-aided design/drafting as required; and may occasionally assist District Engineer 3 in reviewing design work of staff for training purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have knowledge of and ability to apply entry-level principles of engineering.
  • Must have an occupationally significant combination of job knowledge; oral/written communication skills; mathematical ability; customer relations skills; resourcefulness; integrity; analytical and problem-solving abilities; skills in teamwork and promoting safety in the workplace; organizational ability; ability to work with a diverse population; ability to apply engineering principles and methods to utility design; spatial and form perception; and attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Responsibilities
