About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is looking for an Engineer II who shares our passion for excellence and is enthusiastic about creating the ultimate service experience. Our Engineers are responsible for providing service and repairs to hotel equipment including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner. This position reports to the Director of Engineering. U.S. work authorization is required for this position.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in relative position.
  • Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-Job or through a series of professional certifications.
  • Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment.
  • Ability to read and speak and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
  • Handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
  • Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public area in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
  • Clean all stations in Engineering, grease traps, plumbing stoppages and maintain an organized department and hotel.
  • Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary.
  • Assist with energy conservation programs in the hotel.
  • Assist in the installation of electrical and mechanical systems for renovations, outlet additions and associated equipment and electrical set ups for exhibits including maintenance of those set-ups.
  • Ability to work overnight, independently and on a team.
  • Scheduled Preventative Maintenance: Performing regular, scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks within guest rooms and other hotel spaces.
  • Minor Repairs: Addressing and resolving minor maintenance issues such as tightening loose fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and addressing other small repairs.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining the overall cleanliness and functionality of rooms and common areas, including cleaning surfaces, vacuuming, and touch-up work as needed.
  • Inspecting and Maintaining Room Contents: Checking the functionality and condition of furniture, fixtures, appliances (like TVs and mini-fridges), and other items found in guest rooms.
  • Reporting Major Issues: Promptly identifying and reporting any significant maintenance problems or safety hazards to management.
  • Safety and Security: Adhering to all company safety procedures and security protocols, completing required safety training, and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Guest Service: Responding to guest requests professionally and promptly, assisting with their needs, and maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  • Professionalism: Maintaining a clean and professional appearance in line with company standards.
