About The Position

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. This individual will use their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to join our team and positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Permanence system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial engineering, or a similar technical field
  • 2+ years of experience with system engineering principles and processes throughout various phases of the design lifecycle
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and diagrams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Engineering disciplines, particularly mechanical, aerospace and materials
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle design and requirements
  • Experience with qualification of electro-mechanical hardware
  • System development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices and their rightsizing for rapid development programs
  • Experience with verification planning, coordination of verification evidence, and development/delivery of verification closure notices.
  • Advanced experience with systems engineering tools such as Jama, DOORS Next Gen, etc.
  • Experience with project planning and implementation
