NPHS IT enables technology solutions for the Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business unit of Cardinal Health. From more than 150+ locations in the U.S., the business unit manufactures and dispenses time-critical pharmaceuticals used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. NPHS IT is a product-centric team operating in an agile model which includes a dedicated business product owner and a geographically dispersed team. The technology includes custom developed solutions used internally and commercially. A candidate for this job should have a desire to work in an Agile development team that is evolving around next generation cloud-friendly solutions and practices. The role will have the opportunity to work on new technologies, develop skills as a full-stack developer, and provide technical leadership to the team of developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Programming and application development experience including one or more of the following technologies: JAVA, JAVA Spring Boot, Angular, Kubernetes (GKE), Hibernate, Groovy.
  • Experience in querying and scripting on a database (PGSQL).
  • Experience in developing automated unit test scripts and load test scripts.
  • Ability and aptitude for cloud-based software development in a team environment.
  • Passion/self-motivation for ongoing continuous learning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Design and develop cloud-native microservices/micro front end, ensuring modularity, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Driving automated testing and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (e.g., Concourse, Jenkins)
  • Working closely with the business product owners and other Cardinal Health IT teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in both frontend and backend components.
  • Ensure seamless delivery and integration.
  • Understand the NPHS business and build thoughtful, complete solutions.
  • Maintain stability and implement new technology where benefits are possible.
  • Participate in special projects to align with strategic priorities.
