We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Municipal Infrastructure team in our Eden Prairie office. This role is intended for an individual with 0-3 years of prior experience in municipal engineering that has a passion for the planning, design and maintenance of essential City infrastructure such as streets, stormwater, pedestrian facilities, public utilities and other public infrastructure. Our Graduate Engineers receive ongoing mentorship and guidance from experienced civil engineers as they grow into their career. Requirements

  • An ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree
  • Completion of the FE exam and Engineer-In-Training registration, or ability to obtain within six months of the employment start date
  • Prior experience developing or working with construction profiles, plans and specifications related to transportation engineering
  • Prior experience operating industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers in all phases of project development with preliminary and detailed design and modeling of civil and municipal water infrastructure projects
  • Assist project teams with the development of construction estimates, geometric design, plans and specifications, presentations and technical reports
  • Complete onsite construction observation during construction phases of projects
  • Represent Houston Engineering, Inc in communications with clients, contractors, landowners and public entities
