About The Position

This position within the P1 group will primarily be responsible for supporting electronic control-type projects. Working with customers to scope out what the requirements are for a new controls type project, Bill of material (component) selection, to working on full Statements of Work to help define the control architecture of a machine. This position will also be responsible for writing all of the application code and benchtop testing of new control systems. And traveling onsite to help customers with commissioning and startup. Up to 20% travel should be expected for this role. A strong skillset around software control and development will be required. Managing software IP and code in a common PDM vault is a must. A strong understanding of the mechanical principles that the control system will have to interact with is also a strong plus for this role. This role will often be looked at as a primary lead when it comes to software and controls integration. This role will also help to further strengthen our controls and software integration into Electrified and Autonomous applications, as these disciplines often work with the main system control programmer on a given machine to create a complete solution for a customer. This role will also support all of our subsidiary engineers and account managers in their efforts to scope, program, develop, and commission new control-type projects. So being able to interact with customers at all phases of the design process is a strongly needed skill set.
