Join us at Landis+Gyr, where we manage energy better! Job Summary The Firmware Engineer I designs, develops, tests, and maintains firmware for the metrology firmware on electricity meters utilizing Agile Scrum methodology.Landis+Gyr 's Grid edge intelligence interaction, processors running on Linux and this position will work on some of these advancements.Here at Landis+Gyr we have a progressive career development path that will promote either via technical or management routes based on the individual’s aspirations.Continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD) design philosophy. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronics & Communication is required.
  • 1+ to 3 years’ experience
  • Programming C, C++, C# a plus
  • Firmware development for an embedded system including use of development and debugging tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to real-time operating systems a plus
  • Exposure to product life cycle and software development methodologies a plus
  • Familiarity with MS Suite, Requirement Management, and Bug Management tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, and tests electricity meter firmware.
  • Contributes to the development of product design specifications including functional requirements, use cases, detailed design, interface, and test plans. Contributes to design verification testing processes and procedures.
  • Assists with planning and support of field installations of Alpha and Beta phase.
  • Contributes to design and code reviews. Contributes to product and system-level test efforts.
  • Supports and adheres to company’s code of Code of Conduct and Ethics policy.
  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
