Specific responsibilities include creating aerodynamic designs of Fan and Compressor components for aircraft gas turbines that meet aggressive design cycle time and component performance targets. Opportunities exist to work on a wide range of products and technical initiatives, including three-dimensional flow analysis, subsonic and supersonic airfoil designs, and compressor stability enhancements. This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Nice To Haves

  • Internship experience with Pratt & Whitney, RTX, or within the aerospace industry
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiarity with aero-thermal fluids experimentation and/or CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

Responsibilities

  • Performing compressor aerodynamic analysis
  • Design of compressor aerodynamic features including airfoil and flowpath shapes
  • Review and analysis of engine test data
  • Supporting closure of key technical issues
  • Working in teams with other engineers to improve technical capability
