Essential Duties/Responsibilities : Respond to daily, monthly and annual metrics to work with the local Value Stream Manager to analyze effectiveness and recommend improvements to present machinery operations, tool designs, production methods and machine control to improve process capability. (Increased safety, lower scrap, higher productivity, etc.) Identify and solve problems in the value stream by collaborating with cross functional groups to investigate Safety and Quality issues. Leads the identification of the root cause, formulation of corrective and preventive action to solve issue. Preventive actions may include revising policies and procedures, increase in preventive maintenance, equipment re-design and or changes in measurement systems. Capital Expense: Lead the execution implementation of capital expense projects from quote to IQOQPQ with minimal guidance. Participate in annual budgeting process and execute emergency capital expense. Create documentation to facilitate implementation of automated processes, commercialized incremental and new product and new equipment during the transition to production with guidance. This work may collaborate with Developmental Engineering and the Automation Group. Be able to lead automation projects and or recommend areas for automation in the value stream. Lead initiatives to improve total preventative maintenance, ensuring critical equipment is understood and the risk of unplanned downtime is minimized or mitigated. Maintain an increased awareness of customer and industry technical requirements and basic business acumen regarding the business impact of technical decisions. This includes the strategies of the local and global Enterprise Value Stream. Work cross functionally with on-site groups as well as global elements of the value stream including Developmental Engineering. In depth knowledge of the materials and the equipment in the value stream including new product development is expected. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations of the industry served by the value stream. Be a role model in demonstrating compliance and exhibiting and rewarding behaviors that comply with SQDC metrics. Continue to develop professional skills in Continuous Improvement including Lean Practitioner and/or Lean Six Sigma Programs and value stream events. LSS Green Belt and or some level of Lean Practitioner training is desired in this role. Requirements

  • BS Degree, Engineering Discipline
  • 3-6 years relevant engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of Intermediate Lean Manufacturing tools and practical experience applying lean standards in a manufacturing environment required
  • Understanding and use of SPC and ability to analyze data.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging Process Mapping, PFMEA, Process Design, DFM (Cpk, Ppk) and/or DMAIC tools in projects or on their own.
  • This position requires U.S. Person status as defined by applicable law for authorized access to data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, and workers granted refugee or asylum status in the United States.

Nice To Haves
