About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer II to join our Supplier Designed Equipment (SDE) Engineering team within the Electro-Mechanical Interface Devices (EMIDS) group supporting Environmental Control Systems (ECS) programs. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of innovative electro-mechanical interface devices that integrate electronic controls with critical fuel systems. You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional engineering and project management team in a fast-paced environment, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through implementation. This is a strong opportunity to make a meaningful impact on advanced aerospace systems while continuing to grow your technical and project leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Prior experience in project engineering

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design and integration of EMIDS in accordance with Collins’ product development process, including requirements development, design, verification, validation, and production incorporation.
  • Generating and maintaining project schedules with clearly defined dependencies, deliverables, and critical paths.
  • Developing and managing project risks and mitigation plans.
  • Providing clear and concise communication with peers and Collins leadership.
  • Managing and coordinating hardware development configurations throughout the engineering process.
  • Conducting Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCCA) investigations for field and production engine test component removals.
  • Understanding, developing, and executing development and qualification test procedures and reports.
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting test results.
  • Verifying that internal processes are executed effectively to reduce the probability of engineering setbacks.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, providing markups, and coordinating drawing releases.
  • Reviewing supplier technical capabilities.
  • Supporting cost and weight reduction initiatives.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives and Engineering Standard Work.
