EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer II - Software in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our office in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document and analyze modules or features of new or upgraded software systems, applications, and new products.
• Develop and execute implementation according to project plans and priorities.
• Coding, edit, document, and debugging of software based upon internal and customer requirements.
• Develop new and modify existing business and operations applications in support of the HughesOn Enterprise services.
• Implement the software development life cycle during all application development from requirements gathering through deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field plus 1 year of experience in job offered or similar role.
• 1 year of experience in real time systems development in Python.
• 1 year of experience in Agile development methodologies using JIRA, GIT.
• 1 year of experience with databases, Linux OS, and REST based web services.
• 1 year of experience with object-oriented principles and methodologies.
• 1 year of experience in design and analysis of algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in operating system design.
• 1 year of experience in software automation/orchestration and cloud-based services such as GCP, Apache Airflow.
