Role Overview The Commissioning Services Engineer Level III supports projects from proposal through startup and turnover, working under the direction of the Commissioning Services Manager. The role assists in commissioning planning for Technical Field Advisors (TFAs) and serves as a key contributor to the Commissioning Services team as the focal point for all commissioning‑related activities across projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical diploma with extensive experience in power generation construction or commissioning. Or, based on the hiring manager’s decision a combination of work experience, education, and training, to meet the position requirements.
  • Understanding of mechanical commissioning, testing, pipe flushing, startup, and thermodynamic/fluid dynamic principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures, regulations, and prepare reports and business documentation; multilingual abilities are an asset.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills to solve engineering problems and interpret technical instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and email applications.
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements including standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting 25–50 pounds; ability to work in loud environments, at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as required, maintaining a valid driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

  • Review project contracts and documentation to prepare and support site commissioning teams.
  • Plan, forecast, and schedule personnel and resources based on weekly project progress.
  • Support development of Standard Operating Procedures for commissioning activities.
  • Interpret project drawings including P&IDs, process diagrams, and function diagrams.
  • Refine field procedures for commissioning and startup in coordination with commissioning and project support teams.
  • Ensure accurate and complete commissioning documentation for each project.
  • Maintain and update internal commissioning documentation and check sheets.
  • Review and report TFA weekly schedules to assist with monitoring and managing TFA hours.
