Summary: The Operations Technical Services Telecommunications Engineer develops and evaluates requirements for telecommunications and related protection and controls equipment. This role maintains accurate engineering maintenance plans, manages various equipment types, and provides field support with limited supervision. The engineer assesses current assets and system architecture, identifies improvement opportunities based on standards and industry best practices, and prepares business cases for upgrades and replacements. The position is also responsible for creating 5‑ and 10-year asset upgrade forecasts, developing detailed project scopes that support effective design and construction, and establishing processes and testing procedures for all telecommunications devices. Creative, well‑reasoned solutions are encouraged.
