About The Position

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. Join the ARC Robotics Technology Development team and help develop the next generation of advanced robotics for manufacturing. As a Mechanical Systems Engineer on the ARC Robotics Technology Development team, you will enable new automation initiatives across GM Manufacturing Operations. This role focuses on robotic tooling, fixtures, mechanisms, and machine hardware that can be built, tested, validated, and scaled for plant use. The ARC Robotics Technology Development team develops advanced robotics and automation solutions for GM Manufacturing Operations. The team bridges concept development and real manufacturing applications by creating technologies that solve practical plant problems and are ready for validation and deployment. As an Engineer focused on Mechanical Systems, you will design and develop the core mechanical hardware for robotic and automated systems. This includes end effectors, fixtures, structural assemblies, guarding concepts, and custom mechanisms. You will work closely with electrical, integration, simulation, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, serviceable, and ready for testing.
