About The Position

The Process Engineer supports the development, scale-up, and optimization of manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing cosmetic products. This role leads technical execution of new product introductions, tech transfers, pilot trials, and process troubleshooting to ensure safe, efficient, GMP-compliant, and cost-effective production. The Process Engineer evaluates manufacturability of new projects and coordinates with Engineering leadership regarding capital equipment requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field; OR minimum of five (5) years of relevant technical manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing plant experience; cosmetic or personal care manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience working in GMP-regulated environments preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, process data, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mixing, filling, and packaging equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review new product briefs and customer requirements to assess manufacturing feasibility, equipment capability, capacity constraints, and process risks.
  • Identify gaps in existing equipment or infrastructure and coordinate with the Process Engineering Manager and Engineering team to define capital expenditure (CAPEX) needs for new projects.
  • Lead technical implementation of new product introductions, ensuring accurate translation of specifications into manufacturing and filling/assembly processes.
  • Execute and document customer technical transfers; ensure alignment between customer requirements and plant capabilities.
  • Conduct pilot batches and line trials; collect and analyze data; author detailed technical reports and recommendations.
  • Support process scale-up activities from laboratory to full commercial production.
  • Partner with Quality to develop, review, and maintain accurate manufacturing and filling specifications in compliance with cosmetic GMP requirements.
  • Identify process variability and implement corrective actions in collaboration with Production and Quality teams.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide data-driven solutions to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield improvement, waste reduction, labor efficiency, and process reliability.
  • Assist in maintaining formula input systems and ensure manufacturing procedures are accurately implemented into Batch Pack (or applicable ERP/MES system).
  • Maintain working knowledge of laboratory, batching, filling, and assembly equipment within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and promote safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
