About The Position

Systems Technology & Research, Inc (STaR) is seeking candidates for an Engineer (Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical) to support the Army's Systems Readiness Division (SRD), Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) office located in Huntsville, AL. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Provide airworthiness and technical engineering support to the US Army's UAS programs. Review, assess, and provide written assessments regarding the accuracy of technical documentation, including component qualification data, Functional Hazard Analysis, test plans and reports, operators' and maintenance manuals, Critical Safety Items lists, Quality Deficiency Reports, and Engineering Change Proposals. Prepare and coordinate documentation, including Airworthiness Releases (AWRs), Airworthiness Qualification Plans (AQPs), and Statements of Airworthiness Qualification (SAQs). Attend technical meetings within the Systems Readiness Division (SRD) and the UAS Project Office (PM UAS) and provide technical recommendations and resolutions as needed. Coordinate tasks as necessary with the different functional support groups of SRD, including Structures, Mission Equipment, Aeromechanics, and Propulsion, and track progress to meet suspense dates. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 8-10 years in aviation/engineering (aerospace/electrical/mechanical).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
