About The Position

The Supervisor, Engineering Change Control leads the daily operations of the Change Coordination team while actively supporting the execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). This role ensures engineering changes are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established procedures, minimizing disruption to production, inventory, and the customer experience. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on change coordination with team leadership, training, and continuous improvement. The Supervisor manages the Change Coordination team and partners closely with the PLM/PDM Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to improve execution efficiency, data integrity, and ECO throughput. The Supervisor executes and enforces change control processes as defined by the PLM/PDM Manager, provides input and recommendations for continuous improvement, and ensures consistent day-to-day compliance. Workload is generally 70% supervision, training, and process oversight and 30% direct change coordination, with flexibility based on ECO volume and business priorities. Success in this role is measured by ECO cycle time and quality, team performance metrics, cross-functional alignment, and continuous improvement outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in Engineering Change Control or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLM/PDM and ERP systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and execute structured processes.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM and related workflow tools (e.g., SharePoint, Nutrient).
  • Experience supporting complex product lifecycles, cross-functional change boards, and/or multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success improving product data governance, BOM structures, and ECO workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Change Review Board (CRB) meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate and approve Engineering Change Orders.
  • Review ECOs for completeness, feasibility, and business impact, including manufacturing, schedule, inventory, and customer considerations.
  • Ensure change packages are accurate, complete, and clearly documented prior to approval.
  • Enforce adherence to defined change control procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the PLM/PDM Manager regarding workflow performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Supervise the Change Coordination team, providing coaching, direction, and workload prioritization.

  • Establish standard work, quality expectations, and accountability for change coordination activities.
  • Identify performance gaps, training needs, and recurring issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure engineering changes are implemented with accurate, controlled updates to BOMs and related product data.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to support inventory integrity, order accuracy, and downstream operational execution.
  • Partner with the BOM Analyst to prioritize work, confirm deliverables, and ensure effective use of offshore resources.
  • Monitor ECO dashboards and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support initiatives to improve ECO throughput, first-pass quality, and overall execution efficiency.
  • Participate in process automation and system enhancement efforts to reduce manual effort and improve visibility.
