Job Responsibilities: The Engineering Co-Op assists Product Development Engineers in all aspects of the product development process. Activities include planning, executing and reporting on various studies required to support product development. Evaluate studies and tests results against established objectives.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in advanced schooling for plastics technology, mechanical, industrial, or chemical engineering.
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Conduct financial analysis
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel & Power Point required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design of experiments for material and process trials
  • Schedule and attend trials
  • Identify and schedule required testing
  • Preparation of reports detailing results of trails and tests
  • Assist in developing advanced manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate existing technologies by preparing cost and performance analysis
  • Prepare comparison analysis between new and existing technologies to determine feasibility of performance improvement
  • Determine required capital for use of new technologies
  • Recommend course of action for projects based on analysis
  • Coordinate engineering changes, and associated trials
  • Effectively utilize CAD technology to execute studies and engineering changes in CAD
  • Prepare mathematical computations, dimensional and tolerance studies in accordance with engineering/customer requirements
  • Calculate stack-up of detail components
  • Assist engineering by generating studies, concept and sketches, of specific areas, to realize or eliminate engineering concerns
