We are currently seeking MEP Engineering Intern (mechanical engineering focus) in our Akron, Baltimore or Columbus offices to join the existing MEP Team.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Eagerness to learn multidisciplinary engineering with emphasis on MEP systems.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn design and analysis software tools.
  • Commitment to teamwork, problem-solving, and contributing to projects that improve communities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to system designs from concept through final construction documents across diverse project types.
  • Perform technical analyses, apply problem-solving techniques, and engage in critical thinking to develop creative, practical solutions.
  • Review and apply local, state, and federal codes and standards in design and construction.
  • Gain experience with engineering software including AutoCAD, Revit, and analysis tools such as Trace 700, COMCheck, and All-in-One Engineering Edition (acoustic analysis).
  • Assist in design and coordination of mechanical and plumbing systems including HVAC/Hydronics and plumbing systems such as Domestic Water/Sanitary/Venting, Medical Gas and Fire Suppression.
  • Support field staff, contractors, and architects to ensure design compliance during construction.
  • Learn and apply market-specific guidelines and best practices across federal, healthcare, justice, higher education, and other sectors.
  • Develop strong interpersonal and communication skills through cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams and clients.
