Requirements

  • Active participant in BSME program with at least 1 year coursework completed
  • Self-starter with 1-2 years engineering experience in a solid-modeling based CAD system (Solidworks preferred)
  • Mechanically inclined, technically savvy and possess the ability to multi-task in a demanding timeline driven position
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) on a Windows based OS
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong mechanical/hand tool skills desired, ability to remove and install various interior components and products in a variety of vehicles is a plus
  • Appreciation for punctuality, dependability, and ownership for assigned duties
  • Must occasionally be able to lift and move from 50 to 100 lbs.
  • Corrected 20/20 vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical/hand tool skills desired, ability to remove and install various interior components and products in a variety of vehicles is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Product design activities
  • Support the current engineering team with designs for products in the emergency vehicle market. These can be anything from; consoles, K9’s, prisoner transports, motion devices etc.
  • Designs may incorporate a variety of materials; plastics, sheet metal components and machined parts.
  • Measure the vehicles using hand tools and/or the 3d scanner.
  • Detail drawing generation
  • Using Solidworks generate 3d models and 2d drawings
  • Prototype build support
  • Assemble prototypes and test fixtures with the help of current engineers.
  • Product installation/vehicle test-fit support
  • Remove interior vehicle components with engineering supervision.
  • Install prototypes in the vehicle.
  • Replace OEM components.
  • Participate in team design reviews.
  • Provide production support with engineering assistance
