About The Position

Wood is currently searching for a talented Engineering Intern (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical) to support our Subsea Systems & Controls group in the Houston, TX office. The Engineering Intern will assist Engineers & other Group personnel in developing and delivering work scopes. The internship duration is expected to be 10-12 weeks. Due to the nature of the role, Wood will be considering local, qualified candidates first (Wood will not assist in relocation). This is an opportunity to join a world-class organization and work with senior staff on exciting subsea projects. A self-motivated individual, who is interested in developing technically will thrive in this environment.

Requirements

  • Working on Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical)
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and flexible environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience in Oil & Gas a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the performance of design / concept & engineering of the project solutions
  • Assist with the preparation and checking of engineering reports and procedures
  • Interact with department members to ensure that work is produced and issued in a timely manner and project information is distributed amongst them
  • Contribute to lessons learned exercises
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner
  • Comply with all company policies including safety policies.
