Join the herd and unlock your opportunity. The Cribl AI Systems Team is building the core AI runtime that powers every AI-driven experience across the Cribl product suite. We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the next phase of scaling and operationalizing our inference, retrieval, and MCP foundations, so product teams can ship new AI experiences with confidence. You’ll work closely with teams building AI native products, SRE, Security, and a highly-skilled group of engineers to deliver fast, predictable, trustworthy AI services across cloud environments. Your team will also be accountable for reliability, performance, and token-cost efficiency of inference services.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of Engineering Management experience
  • Recent (within 5 years) hands-on engineering experience in: TypeScript / JavaScript, Python or Go
  • Background in B2B SaaS product development
  • Demonstrated interest in AI/ML
  • Can articulate informed opinions about current AI trends
  • Experience working directly with AI products
  • Strong communication skills and leadership presence in a distributed team

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy and execution across multiple Copilot experiences
  • Drive technical direction and product evolution for the AI stack, inference backend, user-facing AI products
  • Interface closely with the AI Research and Model Training team to align on model capabilities, evaluation methodology, data/training pipelines, and the productionization path for new models and techniques
  • Oversee infrastructure, on-call rotations, and operational processes.
  • Operate in a player-coach model, contributing 50% of your time to hands-on engineering: Writing evals Testing and debugging features Occasionally contributing to inference stack development
  • This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties
