About The Position

Corrpro Companies is looking for an Engineering Manager for our Cathodic Protection Engineering Team. Corrpro is a corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities and public transportation agencies. Corrpro is a subsidiary of Azuria Water Solutions Company. Manage the Houston Region’s technical organization including resource management, work product standardization, quality, training, development of technical employees and the provision of technical support services as required to support the business and its customers (business development, operations, R&D and industry Responsible for direction and coordination of Corrosion Engineers Guide and assist staff in the application of generally accepted engineering principles, cathodic protection design concepts, material applications, survey techniques and analytical reporting techniques Hire, train and develop employees to execute engineering department functions Instruct and advise employees on policies and procedures affecting the work environment Maintain harmonious employee relations and resolve issues as needed, as well as complete annual employee performance evaluations Plan and direct field efforts for effective coordination with sales operationsProvide data to the Director of Engineering in the preparation of each year’s engineering budget Implement and monitor compliance with company safety program for engineering staff Interact with customers on technical issues requiring specialized skills or data interpretation Organize, schedule, coordinate staff and assign subcontractors to projects to obtain most effective utilization of resources and meet commitments to customers Review preliminary survey, design data and proposals with engineering staff Discuss project objectives, specify expectations, suggest appropriate methods and procedures Visit jobsites to provide technical guidance to ensure successful execution of the work

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related degree
  • 8 years of cathodic protection engineering experience
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in making people management decisions and comfortable in a management position
  • Experience with Operations and interacting with Business Development group
  • Experience effectively communicating with both customers and fellow employees
  • Experience with complex MS Excel spreadsheets, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and databases, with the ability to learn new applications quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License preferred
  • AMPP CP Certification – ideally CP Technologist and/or CP Specialist
  • Federal contracting or DoD experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and empower employees, strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently
