About The Position

Best Buy Co. has openings in Richfield, Minnesota, for an Engineering Manager, Data Adoption & Availability position. Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for the team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices. Solve highly complex issues by applying sound technical approaches. Set the team’s objectives and key results in collaboration with Product and Experience Design (XD) partners. Communicate context to the team and set clear expectations. Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Design and build solutions with impacts across multiple teams. Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues. Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity. Provide technical guidance on issues that span multiple projects. Manage individual performance through coaching, mentoring, and encouragement of development plans and assigning and reviewing their work. There are multiple openings for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, or Information Technology
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering and tuning data model for performance and data quality
  • 2 years of this experience must include managing and leading engineering teams
  • Utilizing cloud computing services (AWS and Google Cloud)
  • Working cross-functionally with product management and other engineering teams
