We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Data Partner Integrations team within the Connections organization. Alloy partners with hundreds of data vendors that perform work across identity verification, fraud mitigation and many others. To scale this out, Alloy is building the next generation integration platform, which will make it easy to build, operate and maintain data integrations. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will lead the development of enterprise-scale third party data and product integrations supporting our client use cases and leading the third-party marketplace efforts. You will own the technical and strategic vision for our data and product partner infrastructure, ensuring it meets current and future needs for scale and interoperability. Your work will involve continuously improving our integration architecture and monitoring at scale. Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite three days a week, and remote employees onsite once a quarter.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in engineering with at least 3 years in an engineering leadership position.
  • A track record of successful projects demonstrating a commitment to product excellence and client impact.
  • Experience working with data product vendors for API, SDK integrations and digital marketplaces.
  • Experience scaling process and infrastructure, with feedback and insights from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep technical background in software development with intermediate-to-expert skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node, and exposure to Python.
  • Ability to lead thorough code reviews and help engineers solve bugs.
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and experience with highly scalable and highly available application architectures.
  • Experience leading sprint planning, goal based project tracking and execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
  • Humble - agrees with the philosophy of servant leadership; you lead by pointing people in the right direction and being there to help support them along the way, not by micromanaging or demanding.
  • Must be local to New York City and attend the office 3-4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, develop, and mentor team members, holding weekly 1:1s and supporting their professional development.
  • Create, track, and manage engineering team metrics and KPIs, following the principles of Accelerate's "Four Key Metrics."
  • Work closely with partnerships, internal and external stakeholders, and other key teams across the company.
  • Communicate technical and product decisions to the right people, resolve blocking issues, and keep our development machine humming
  • Establish and manage governance around release, deployment, monitoring, and testing to maintain high-quality integration standards.
  • Drive the technical and strategic vision for our data integration infrastructure to meet future scalability and interoperability needs of hundreds of data partners.
