The Algorithm Ecosystem manager will be responsible to define the tools, techniques, and processes for SMS that comprise a compelling and resilient approach to algorithm development throughout the algorithm lifecycle: discovery, evaluation, implementation, and integration. A critical responsibility of this role is championing the creation of an Algorithm Product and the business case to justify continuous investment over many years. The specific needs of many stakeholders will need to be balanced against available budget and the future business strategy. The following objectives have been identified for this role in 2026: Integration, Test, and Evaluation Infrastructure for rapid algorithm pipeline design and performance evaluation. Centralized repositories (Algorithm Bank) for code, documentation, and evaluation data, providing version control and interface standards. Documentation (ADD/SDD) standardization is required for provenance of algorithms and necessary for implementation of the algorithm in software. Discoverability and Reusability of codified algorithms to improve development and delivery and reduce proliferation of independent solutions. Guided Processes (Lifecycle Working Agreements) for both Algorithm and Software Developer enabling a smooth handshake between the two.
