About The Position

This role is remote eligible In this role, you will not only lead the development of our Ruby on Rails and Elixir systems but also shape our e-commerce strategies, particularly in the realm of Merchandising tools. Your leadership will guide a team of engineers toward implementing innovative solutions that enhance our operational efficiency for Merchandising workflows and improve the customer experience. This position is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in e-commerce, distributed systems, and an understanding of the complexities of modern Merchandising tools in the online retail space.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of managing high-performing engineering teams
  • Proven track record in managing and scaling distributed, public cloud-native systems and services.
  • Strong understanding of relational database systems (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of engineers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with e-commerce, merchandising or inventory systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and their application in large-scale environments.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A passion for sustainable fashion and technology’s role in this sector.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers in designing and implementing high-quality software solutions.
  • Lead the engineering efforts in our e-commerce platform, focusing on scalability, user experience, and Merchandising tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, ML team, and Merchandising team, to develop and implement effective online Merchandising tools.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of our core systems built on Ruby on Rails and Elixir, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to align engineering activities with broader company objectives.
