About The Position

Responsibilities: Responsible for leading and managing a cross functional team that creates high quality, trusted data for our trading business. Utilize extensive knowledge in financial engineering and economics to further develop and improve our tech-based solutions for our traders to identify and validate new signals as well as sourcing commodity datasets from vendors. Be responsible for the following: Direct daily operations of department with Product Managers to help analyze workflow, establish priorities, develop standards, and set deadlines to write User Stories and fuel discovery for the team; Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and the team to continuously encourage to invest in their delivery process to remove friction and increase developer experience; Collaborate with staff engineers and architects to define technical standards and direction; Identify and remove bottlenecks as well as connecting engineers across teams; Support team’s current delivery of working software, while balancing time by also collaborating with product managers and traders to prepare the backlog of upcoming projects; and Drive the career development of team members including mentoring junior engineers, aligning opportunities to engineers to make cases for promotions and continuously giving feedback. Position supervises 6 employees. Educ./experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer and informationtechnology, financial engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Investment Advisor, Market Research & Strategy Analyst, or related position within the finance field. Experience must include: R, Python, Matlab; Excel for financial modeling; Dataiku; Tableau; SQL; and Linear and non-linear portfolio optimization techniques.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer and informationtechnology, financial engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Investment Advisor, Market Research & Strategy Analyst, or related position within the finance field.
  • Experience must include: R, Python, Matlab; Excel for financial modeling; Dataiku; Tableau; SQL; and Linear and non-linear portfolio optimization techniques.
