Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are seeking a Program Manager to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of technical work packages for Wiring & Low Voltage Systems (LVS). This role will be responsible for managing the program schedule, budget, and resources for LVS and wiring harness architecture development, design, and integration. The position requires a foundational understanding of electrical systems and wiring harness design principles, coupled with proven program management experience on complex product development programs in an aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management for technical systems within aerospace/aviation or a highly regulated product development environment.
  • Proven experience managing the design, development, and integration of Low Voltage Systems and/or Wiring Harnesses as a project or program lead.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for electrical component and wiring harness design is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with program management tools
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, with a focus on delivering on schedule and budget.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex technical workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets for LVS and wiring hardware.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or an MBA.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with eVTOL or urban air mobility programs.
  • Experience with system safety analysis (e.g., FMEA, FTA) or certification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate LVS and wiring design activities from concept through implementation on the aircraft, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Lead the wiring and LVS cross-functional team by establishing clear program priorities, delegating responsibilities, and supporting timely execution of deliverables.
  • Direct supplier management activities for LVS hardware and wiring harness manufacturers, focusing on schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Drive coordination with aircraft systems to define and manage wiring and LVS interface definition.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of LVS and wiring harness documentation, including system diagrams, drawings, hardware configurations, and certification deliverables.
  • Facilitate trade studies and technical analysis on LVS and wiring component selection and optimization.
  • Ensure the overall LVS and wiring program adheres to program milestones and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Manage the program schedule, risk and opportunities for the integration of LVS and wiring with aircraft structures and electrical systems.
  • Organize and lead design reviews and stage-gate approvals, ensuring a focus on performance, manufacturability, and certification objectives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of technical analysis and testing to validate LVS and wiring harness hardware and software.
  • Track and manage LVS and wiring functional and performance requirements throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Coordinate LVS and wiring verification activities, including lab, ground and flight testing schedules.
  • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate technical risks related to LVS and wiring design and integration.
  • Manage, track, and report progress on assigned LVS and wiring work packages, focusing on Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar metrics.
  • Ensure accurate technical documentation and design records are maintained across the team.
  • Communicate project status, key decisions, and technical issues effectively to the core team and stakeholders.
  • Run technical and cross-functional coordination meetings related to core LVS/Wiring activities.
  • Prepare and deliver status presentations for senior level executives.
