About The Position

In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities we verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers. The Mission Capability Verification Center within Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities is searching for qualified multi disciplined general technicians to support program test operations. Test events may occur over weekends or holidays and may require extended hours with our team at White Sands Missile Range, NM. This position is an onsite role in White Sands, NM. You will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams while supporting multiple projects to achieve timely execution and completion of established goals, as well as support general facility maintenance. You will work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals.
  • Experience with either machining, welding, fabrication; engineering or design techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in real time.
  • Certifications/Qualifications within a supporting trade (i.e, Electrical, HVAC, Automotive)
  • Ability to independently prioritize work in alignment with schedule and budget
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Experience in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support mission execution test events for our radars or missile flight tests, which could include travel to various sites on range.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
  • 50% travel is required to support assigned systems. Travel is both within WSMR and to other US locations, with the possibility of global support.
  • Provide support in a field-testing environment.
  • General facility maintenance.
  • Support to MCVC as needed outside of primary duties.
