About The Position

At EPCOR, we are committed to serving our communities while developing future leaders in infrastructure and utility services. As an Engineering Intern you will support an engineering organization focused on operational excellence, technical problem-solving , and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to real world engineering projects and the opportunity to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and cross functional teams to improve processes, tools, and outcomes. This internship is designed for a college student with a STEM-related academic background who is eager to learn, contribute to improvement activities, and develop professional skills in a team-based engineering environment. Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year college or university program (1st–4th year student)
  • Pursuing a degree in a Construction, Engineering, or Project Management
  • Basic understanding of engineering or technical principles through coursework
  • Strong interest in engineering, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related program
  • Interest in water and wastewater infrastructure projects and project delivery
  • Basic understanding of water and wastewater systems, or willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment, both verbally and in writing
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative, learning‑focused mindset
  • To join EPCOR, you must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • If selected for the role, you must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, professional reference check, previous employer verification, and education verification.
  • Some positions may also require a credit check.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SharePoint, project management tools, and construction documents is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with data collection, analysis, and documentation for engineering and improvement initiatives
  • Support engineering tasks such as process mapping, basic modeling, testing, validation, or performance tracking
  • Help maintain technical documentation, drawings, standard work, or reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis)
  • Help identify process inefficiencies and assist in developing improvement recommendations
  • Support implementation and tracking of improvement actions and metrics
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and support teams
  • Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and improvement workshops
  • Communicate findings, ideas, and progress clearly in both written and verbal formats
