JOB SUMMARY: This role will provide oversight, direction and leadership of the 3 areas of the Wyoming fabrication shop. The department is responsible for Additive printing, machining and fabrication supply of parts that support new product development, testing and support activities for multiple areas of the business. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing customers to achieve project deliverables that meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in machining preferred
  • 5+ years supervisory experience required
  • Creativity and ability to provide innovative solutions to technical problems.
  • Decisive and prone to action
  • Basic knowledge of MasterCam, PTC Creo, AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Excellent understanding of plastic and metal materials, tool design, machining and fabrication processes
  • Ability to manage department financial accounts
  • Strong basic computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Excellent leadership and motivational ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Strong materials knowledge.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills and experience influencing other leaders
  • Passion to set and meet high performance standards

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the fabrication, machining and additive teams at the Wyoming location.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling and processing fabrication work orders. Includes make vs buy decisions and determining best internal routing to complete all fabrication requests.
  • Order and purchase necessary equipment, tooling, and materials for completing all requests.
  • Manage budgets, labor demand, special expenses per plans
  • Research and introduce new processes, equipment and technologies.
  • Participate in development builds resolving timing, quality and cost issues
  • Must be able to handle several projects simultaneously and facilitate large projects.
  • Responsible for acquiring quotes, writing capital requests for approval, initiating purchase requests and scheduling contractors to perform work with minimal engineering disruption.
  • Responsible for providing a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with OSHA and MPCA requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean organized shop and office environment
  • Perform other duties as required.
