About The Position

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people
  • Strong backend development expertise, ideally with Elixir/Phoenix or comparable technologies
  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and modern development workflows
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire confidence in the team
  • Strong understanding of team dynamics and ability to cultivate a collaborative environment
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and focus on efficient processes

  • Ambitious, proactive, and capable of balancing technical and leadership responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 3–5 engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback
  • Act as the spokesperson for the team, ensuring strong team dynamics and a supportive, high-performance culture
  • Participate in product development, contributing actively alongside the team while dedicating ~30% of time to leadership responsibilities
  • Oversee hiring processes, onboarding, and career development for team members
  • Foster continuous improvement in engineering practices, workflows, and collaboration
  • Promote alignment with organizational values, team goals, and broader engineering strategies
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and delivery
