About The Position

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Will be assigned to Engineering Field Office (E94) Guam. This is an entry level position with expeditious growth potential upon demonstration of dependability, knowledge and performance. The position is for self-starters and self-motivated individuals needing minimum oversight with attention to following direction. Senior enlisted Submarine, military, government or technical background preferred. Experience in shipboard maintenance, shipyard/repair activity and/or fleet support. Proficiency in the latest version of Microsoft Suite particularly Excel, Word and Power Point is desired. Ability to work independently. Leadership, communication, analytical, team building, collaboration, and flexibility skills required. Public speaking skills are necessary. Occasional travel to Newport News, Virginia and other Naval Shipyards will be required.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Leadership, communication, analytical, team building, collaboration, and flexibility skills required.
  • Public speaking skills are necessary.
  • Occasional travel to Newport News, Virginia and other Naval Shipyards will be required.
  • US Citizenship Required for this Position
  • Clearance Required: Yes - Interim Clearance Required To Start
