About The Position

Effectively and efficiently support the Returns & New Product Development (NPD) program with emphasis on product quality and performance. Support all brands within PetSafe Brands™ during the returns and NPD evaluation process. The Electronic Technician performs all functions required in the testing and evaluation of returned product as assigned by the Returns manager. The Electronic Technician will conduct a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure the unit functions according to specifications. This position will also field service call from the Invisible Fence Brand® network and provide technical support to the install technicians.

Requirements

• Associates degree with 2+ years of experience in related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
• Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possesses excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Is self-starting, self-motivated, and a goal-oriented team member
• Has ability to multi-task with multiple projects at one time to meet deadlines
• Possesses the ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish tasks
• Working knowledge of electrical equipment for component and PCBA evaluation

Responsibilities

• Test product and identify potential undesirable operation through all of the New Product Development stages.
• Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified conditions.
• Connects unit to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, or spectrum analyzer etc.
• Compares results with specifications and records test data.
• Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.
• Performs a visual inspection to verify compliance with PetSafe Brands™ specs.
• Prepares test equipment to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.
• Performs Root Cause Analyses as needed and reports findings.
• Manage own work assignments to hit deliverables and targets.
• Enter troubleshooting data into the returns database.
• Answer inbound calls from Invisible Fence Brand® install technicians and provide technical support as needed.
• Rotating schedule from 8AM to 8PM EST.
• Troubleshoot assemblies down to component level for trends analysis to support the Returns team BSC metrics
• Enter data into the returns database to meet monthly deadlines
• Attend monthly Product Improvement (PIM) meetings
