As a Senior Software Engineer within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Denver, CO, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX or Cleveland, OH. Job Description Develops strategies for platform engineering and insures that they align with business strategies and processes; manages technical resources and engineer staff to deliver high quality programs. Develops strategies for platform engineering and creates a vision that aligns with business strategies, processes and needs. Designs best practices, standards, engineering approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes. Oversees overarching quality improvement efforts for platform engineering. Manages, motivates, and develops the performance of the technology management team and key staff. This role serves as the subject matter expert and escalation point across Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture disciplines, ensuring consistent analysis and timely delivery of work products. The primary accountability is to act as the chief architect’s right hand. In addition will facilitate the adoption of the federated architecture model, orchestrate cross-discipline collaboration to accelerate outcomes, and maintain alignment with strategic priorities. This will require a high level of technical competency.

Requirements

  • Influence & Executive Storytelling – Shape decisions through clear, business-first narratives and stakeholder engagement
  • Business Value & Outcomes – Link architecture decisions to measurable business objectives and benefits realization
  • Ecosystem & Platform Architecture – Enabling the design of API’s, platforms, solutioning, and GenAI agents with appropriate controls
  • Security Proficiency – Embed security-by-design, provide architecture guidance during risk reviews with the security organization. Aligning Strategic direction with appropriate risk mitigation strategies for technology architecture
  • Governance & Process Mastery – Operate permit gates, manage standards and exceptions escalations, and optimize cycle time without eroding control. Ensure Architecture technology compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Lean Governance & Iterative Decisioning – Apply lightweight review cadences and just-in-time decisioning to accelerate flow while maintaining compliance
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree and higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications
  • Industry -relevant experience is typically 8+ years
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required
  • Proven leadership experience with a large scope of responsibility is required
