About The Position

The Enterprise Architect Manager is responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise architecture strategy, driving modernization and technology alignment to support business objectives, and ensuring robust governance across the organization. This leader oversees architecture professionals and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable technology solutions, establish architectural standards, and enable reliable, high-quality business outcomes. The ideal candidate blends utility domain depth, modernization expertise, and hands-on architecture leadership. In addition, the Enterprise Architect Manager may serve as a principal architect, providing cross-portfolio guidance, advising senior leadership, and leading major transformation initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years (Manager) or 10+ years (Principal) in enterprise/solution architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Proven record defining target architectures and roadmaps, building standards, and governing complex portfolios.
  • Hands-on architecture as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect or Product Architect.
  • Excellent communication with executive presence; ability to quantify value and influence cross functional decisions.

  • Experience with relative utility experience
  • Certifications: TOGAF, ITIL.

Responsibilities

  • Business Enablement: Develop enterprise architecture artifacts that align with business objectives and implement structured governance processes.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as trusted advisor to Operations, Security, Infrastructure, Applications, and Data leaders; translate strategy into executable designs; facilitate decisions at Architecture Review Board and steering forums.
  • Leadership & Enablement: Guide a team of architects or lead key programs. Build communities of practice and reusable resources.
  • Architecture Governance & Standards: Set EA policies, standards, and patterns; manage effective governance for faster, safer delivery.
  • Portfolio & Value Realization: Collaborate with PMO/Product and Finance to prioritize actions, define KPIs, and measure outcomes.
  • Strategy & Roadmaps: Shape and maintain EA strategy, reference architectures, and roadmaps aligning business goals with tech investments.
  • Principal Enterprise Architect: Serve as cross-portfolio architect, advisor to leadership, and lead major transformations.
