About The Position

The Enterprise Security Architect</b> provides statewide, multi -domain architecture leadership across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and resilience environments. This role operates with executive visibility and supports time -critical decision -making with direct impact on cybersecurity posture, operational readiness, and public interest outcomes. The architect is responsible for designing and governing architecture across heterogeneous IT, OT, and security ecosystems, ensuring integration, detection coverage, and resilience. The position requires deep technical expertise combined with governance leadership, procurement influence, and hands -on collaboration with engineering teams. Decisions made in this role have cascading impacts across agencies, critical infrastructure, and incident response operations.

Requirements

  • 15 years of Enterprise Architecture experience in large, complex environments.
  • 12 years of IT Infrastructure Architecture experience (on -premises and hybrid).
  • 10 years of Cybersecurity Architecture experience (defensive, enterprise environments).
  • 10 years of Technical Design Documentation and architecture decision artifact development.
  • 8 years of Architecture Governance and participation in Review Boards.

Nice To Haves

  • 20 or more years of enterprise and security architecture experience in large, complex environments.
  • 10 years of executive -level technical communication and briefing experience.
  • 8 years of security telemetry and SIEM architecture experience.
  • 8 years of cloud and virtualization platform architecture (hybrid environments).
  • 7 years of network visibility and detection architecture experience.
  • 7 years of experience with NIST -aligned risk management and security frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead statewide enterprise and cybersecurity architecture across multi -domain IT, OT, and security environments.
  • Design and govern security telemetry pipelines, SIEM platforms, network detection architectures, and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
  • Establish and operate architecture governance frameworks and review boards to balance speed, rigor, and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain technical design documentation, architecture decision records, and governance artifacts.
  • Make high -consequence architecture decisions affecting detection coverage, evidentiary integrity, resilience, and recovery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate architectural designs and ensure practical implementation alignment.
  • Resolve cross -organizational architecture conflicts and adjudicate enterprise risk tradeoffs.
  • Support procurement activities through requirements definition, technical evaluation input, and architectural risk assessments.
  • Guide integration patterns and interoperability strategies across participating entities.
  • Provide executive -level technical briefings and strategic architectural guidance.
