About The Position

Assists with various job duties in the Transit Pass Office / Lost & Found Department, which is part of the Customer Service Department. Assist with sales of all fare instruments (cards, passes, stickers and tickets) and handle various Lost & Found functions safely. Assist customers during phone calls, while returning voice‑mail messages, and when responding to e‑mail inquiries, and letters of request or inquiry. Assist with documenting customer records in the HOLO Transit Program (e.g. bus pass issue, verification of disability, senior renewal payments, etc.). Follow Lost & Found procedures while assisting customers during any intake, logging, or return transactions. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully, and work harmoniously with fellow employees and a diverse customer population, including persons with limited English proficiency, or mental, developmental or physical disabilities.
  • Retail Sales experience preferred in order to complete simple mathematical transactions quickly and accurately, while handling sales and operating a cash register and/or a credit card machine.
  • Must be proficient with the use of a desktop computer to conduct word processing, use e‑mail and complete some spreadsheet forms.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a satisfactory work performance and attendance record.
  • Must pass a Company‑sponsored drug test.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and staffing in the office.
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Another spoken language skill would be helpful.
  • Retail Sales experience preferred.
