The Department of Neurology has an opening for a motivated part-time Research Services Entry Professional to work in the laboratory of Andrew Bubak, PhD. The lab is funded by grants from the National Institute of Health and philanthropic organizations and investigates alphaherpesvirus infections of the central nervous system and vascular system. Current projects in the lab involve identifying mechanisms of virus-induced vascular disease, amyloidosis, aberrant inflammation, and immune suppression; as well as evaluating potential treatments for varicella zoster virus, herpes simplex virus, and Epstein-Barr virus infections. We are seeking an individual who is collaborative, communicative, detail-oriented, organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly motivated. The position will be expected to work independently under the supervisor of the PI but will also engage, communicate, and collaborate with various colleagues (e.g., principal investigator, neurology research staff, finance, and billing professionals, and regulatory team). The Research Services Entry Professional is responsible for providing a high level of professionalism to both internal and external constituents that will maintain the positive image of the Department and University.
