About The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced Entry Level Bridge CAD Technician
to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field.

Requirements

• Associate degree from a technical or four-year school
• 0-3 years of prior experience with structural and/or roadway drafting
• Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred
• Experience in Open Road Designer is preferred with work experience only
• Experience in Autodesk Products is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver’s license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to engineers using OpenBridge Designer to create bridge detail plans and perform minor design work on bridge projects
• Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, title and detail sheets on production sets of plans
• Implementation TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards
• Coordinates assignments with project team and supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Be a team player and assist other groups as needed
