About The Position

OSCO is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Machinist to join our team. The Entry-Level Machinist will be responsible for operating CNC machines and conventional machining equipment to produce and repair tooling and parts for our manufacturing facilities. Requirements

  • Completion certificate from a recognized machining training program OR minimum of 5 years of experience working in a job shop, tool & die shop, or similar equivalent that utilizes CNC manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge and capability of programming and operating CNC lathes and vertical mills
  • Ability to set up, operate, and effectively use machines typically found in metal or wood pattern shops
  • Ability to use measuring tools accurately and precisely
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Must provide personal tools necessary to perform job functions
  • Good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to company and government safety rules and laws
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions
  • Safety focus (Personal protective equipment [PPE] required in manufacturing facilities)
  • Driver's License
  • Ready to Work
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and vertical mills to produce tooling and parts according to specifications
  • Set up, operate, and maintain machines commonly found in metal and wood pattern shops
  • Program CNC equipment for various production runs
  • Use precision measuring tools to ensure items meet quality specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate records of production and quality control measurements
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations
