About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains the cleanliness of all services and hospital areas. Performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalency or 10 years of housekeeping experience in hospitals, nursing homes, medical clinics, or educational institutions in lieu of education.
• One year of experience in housekeeping duties preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting.
• Knowledge of sanitation and disinfection processes and techniques.
• Ability to use equipment such as vacuum cleaner, steamer, trash compactor, carpet extractor, buffer, and burnisher machine.
• Knowledge of waste disposal and recycling procedure.
• Knowledge of safe and appropriate Hazardous/Chemical Material Handling Procedures.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and Safety and Infection Control in Housekeeping Services.
