Job Description: This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery. Credit, Climate Risk & Finance Technology (CCRFT) team is responsible for the technology strategy, solutions and platforms that underpin the firm’s Credit Risk, Climate Risk and Chief Financial Officer Group (CFO). Within CFO, CCRFT supports business units across Corporate Accounts Payable, Global Financial Regulatory Reporting, International Capital and Liquidity, Enterprise Cost Management, Investor Relations, and LOB Finance Teams including Consumer, GWIM, GBAM, GT&O and Staff Support. The organization delivers services which inform and enable business strategies and technology solutions for the Bank’s General Ledger across 8 lines of business; as well as CFO’s strategic financial planning, forecasting and analysis, oversight of the internal control environment, financial regulatory reporting, statutory disclosures and strategic, repeatable cost measurement. Position Overview: CCRFT is seeking a highly skilled Environment Management DevOps Team Lead to establish, build, and lead a new application environment management DevOps team. This team will deliver complex software delivery automation and environment management solutions supporting a portfolio of approximately 75 applications.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing applications within a highly regulated industry (financial services preferred)
  • Proven experience providing direction to technical teams
  • Strong technical proficiency and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated automation-first mindset and ability to drive standardization
  • Hands on experience with modern DevOps tools, practices, and automation frameworks, including:
  • Version Control: Bitbucket, Git
  • CI/CD: Jenkins; GitHub (nice to have)
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements
  • Provide technical leadership and direction the Environment Management DevOps Team
  • Define the team’s service catalog, delivery model, and engagement framework
  • Identify required skills, participate in selecting team members
  • Establish best practices that ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence
  • Deliver Environment Management Services
  • Partner with application development teams, feature leads, and technology executives to deliver high quality environment management capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with Release Management and Change Management partners
  • Provide standardized, automated environment management services across a portfolio of ~75 applications
